The Best Youtube Home Workouts

 Youtube Home Workouts

I like to mix up my workouts from gym training to HIIT's to resistance band workouts. When you are short of time and a visit to your local exercise class isn't an option, then a homework will fit the bill perfectly.

At the moment we do not have a choice of course, but once normality returns and we are working longer hours, don't use the excuse of 'being too tired' or 'having no time' to exercise. Home workouts are instant, come in all shapes and sizes and available at the touch of a button..........and accessible anytime of the day or night.

I have been instructing classes online during this lockdown with my private facebook group members and it has been a lot of fun.

We have had gym sessions, strength training and circuit classes. My group members have done really well and are reaping the benefits of keeping active during these uncertain times. Staying active at any age, will help you live a healthier and happier life. Exercising regularly and consistently will lower the risk of developing many long term illnesses such as heart disease, type II diabetes, strokes and even some cancers.

Due to my 'normal' working hours, it can be difficult to get to my gym or to an exercise class. I have 'bookmarked' some great home workouts that I love doing myself. So I thought I would share with you some of my absolute favourites. There is a 'mixed bag' of exercise from HIIT's to yoga. This makes sure that you use different types of workouts and use all exercise systems.

Gymra - Full Body Workout With a tube Resistance Band

This is a fabulous workout and allows for progression. There are beginners, intermediate and advanced rest period instructions.

As you improve, you will require less rest for enhanced fitness levels. Resistance bands are so versatile and assist with core strength and stability. With a boost in your fitness levels you will decrease your rest period and to improve your strength you can increase the resistance of your bands. This is an excellent full body workout.

HASfit - 20 Minute HIIT Home Cardio Workout Without Equipment - Full Body HIIT Workout

HASfit, one of my favourite 'go to' websites for home workouts. If you are really short of time and want to burn a huge amount of calories, then a HIIT's workout will suffice.

HIIT's (High Intensity Interval Training) is a form of cardiovascular exercise with short bursts of intense cardio followed by a rest period. This particular video requires no equipment, but a towel and plenty of water are essential. Make sure these are available before you start your workout.

30 Minute Band Workout | Full Body Mini Band Circuit

Mini bands are a super piece of kit. They may only be small by they pack in a full body workout.

This video is both cardio and strength training, increasing your heart rate and working a lot of muscles. All this in just 30 minutes. There are some floor exercises involved, so unless you have soft flooring a yoga mat or rug will be required.

Aerobics for beginners - 45 minutes | NHS

If you love exercise to music, then you will love this. 45 minutes of choreographed moves to the beat. This is fun and energetic. A non-stop class that burns calories, tones and improves coordination. There is 30 minutes of active movements and 15 minutes of floor work and stretching.

FitnessBlender - 10 Minute Abs Workout - Fitness Blender Abs and Obliques Routine

For a quick 10 minute ab workout video ....... this is the one. There are 10 exercises, 50 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest. Each exercise is demonstrated during the rest period and you can follow along with each one as performed on screen. It may only be 10 minutes but it is definitely an ab burner and very effective.

Yoga Download - 10 minute - Stand Up and Stretch

This 10 minute mindfulness and yoga stretch can be done anywhere. There is no need for a yoga mat as these stretches are performed in a standing position. This video also includes a few mindful breathing exercises and some of the positions require a steady core and good balance.

Staying active is so beneficial for both physical and mental health. Exercise helps us to feel good about ourselves and can prevent the onset of health issues. Remember to always warm up before exercise and cool down and stretch after your workouts. Please have a read of my article when and why we should stretch
