Booking your Summer Holiday? Try these Tips for a Perfect Getaway

Booking your Summer Holiday

Some of you may have already booked your summer holiday but some like me, may leave it till now when you are ready to go and just about fed up with the great British weather!!

I like to do a bit of research on my destinations because I like to explore and feel familiar with the country and region I am visiting. I particularly like to indulge in the local cuisine and dine in the village taverns rather than the normal 'burger and chips' tourist cafes.

Gone are the days of packaged holidays with the internet in full force worldwide. We can google anything these days from adventurous destinations to luxurious 5 star hotels. There is such a range of accommodation, transportation and places to visit and numerous ways to book your dream vacation.

I have travelled the world several times and still I dream of destinations to either return to or some place I have seen en-route with the intention of returning.

The world is a big place, with many different cultures, historical sites, beautiful beaches, wildlife sanctuaries, relaxing retreats ....... the list goes on and on.

This is an important event in your life. Maybe just a two week break or a month long sabbatical, it's your time to get away from reality and just tune into complete and utter fulfilment and enjoyment.

Here are a few tips and ideas to help you on your journey and to make this a perfect getaway:

I do love beautiful scenery, old towns, remote areas, historic sites, harbours, fjords and the list continues. On my travels across the world, sailing the seven seas on the cruise ships, there would be some surprises along the way. Often there would be ports of call on itineraries that were not envisaged as highlights but they ended up as amazing destinations that really touched my heart. Some I will never forget and hope to return to some day.

Travel expands the mind. You learn so much about history, culture, food and people. Travel takes you out of your comfort zone and brings new experiences. Just the planning and research of a trip can have a fantastic effect on the mind and body. It promotes happiness and boosts energy. I love to travel and there are still so many amazing destinations yet to discover. 23 Amazing World Destinations

Take your time and browse through brochures, social media and travel sites. Open your mind and look at all sorts of destinations, types of holidays and the total costs.

You might surprise yourself when studying the types of holidays available. From cruises to coach tours, package holidays to all-inclusive....there are many ways to enjoy a break. If you have the money saved and waiting to book the holiday of a lifetime, there are so many ways to travel the world and experience specialist holidays designed especially for you.

A holiday is not just a delightful diversion from our everyday life. It enhances both our physical health and mental well-being. It is an experience where we need to have an open mindset to gain happy, fulfilling memories that stay with us for many years to come. These memories will surface when we need to find a happy place and de-stress. Travel for a Healthy Mind

Although I am an experienced traveller I still find airports my biggest stress factor. I have worked abroad, on cruise ships and I love to see the world in general. I just hate the travelling part, especially the airports. However, my holiday to Cyprus just before the first lockdown and then at the end of last year was possibly the least stressful I have ever had. Why you ask? I removed the 'stressors'

Packing!!! I used to find this experience quite unpleasant at one time. Nowadays due to airport restrictions and baggage allowances, there are some super travel solutions for practically every item. This makes packing an easier task to deal with by travelling stress free to the sun

When we have waited so long for a relaxing holiday, we shouldn't have to worry or stress about any part of the journey. Our 'time out' should be a pleasure
