The Best Youtube Home Workouts

Image
Youtube Home Workouts I like to mix up my workouts from gym training to HIIT's to resistance band workouts. When you are short of time and a visit to your local exercise class isn't an option, then a homework will fit the bill perfectly.  At the moment we do not have a choice of course, but once normality returns and we are working longer hours, don't use the excuse of 'being too tired' or 'having no time' to exercise. Home workouts are instant, come in all shapes and sizes and available at the touch of a button..........and accessible anytime of the day or night.  I have been instructing classes online during this lockdown with my  private facebook group  members and it has been a lot of fun.  We have had gym sessions, strength training and circuit classes. My group members have done really well and are reaping the benefits of keeping active during these uncertain times. Staying active at any age, will help you live a healthier and happier life. How to Travel Stress Free - Lets Pack for the Sun

Image
Stress Free Travel The time has finally arrived, it is safe to travel, restrictions are not so tight and we can pack our cases and fly in search of the sun, sea and sangria. We remember those feelings of warm rays, gentle waves and a tipple or two of a night time. We long to be there or anywhere to get this feeling once again.  The lockdowns have been hard enough to deal with and without a means of escape it has driven us to isolation and frustration........so now, we are surfing the internet and perusing through holiday brochures ready to book our 'get away'. We remember the good stuff.....the sea, the sand, the sangria. We forget the stresses of travel . In fact the most stressful part of our holiday is the travelling 'to and from' our destination.  The worry of delayed flights, cancelled flights, the check in, customs, finding a seat on the plane, overhead luggage space........and the dreaded moment of waiting for your case to appear on the conveyor belt. Social events being cancelled, holidays on hold and normality off limits. We have become emotional eaters whether it's through boredom, frustration or unhappiness, we have turned to food. But he has struggled w

Book Review - The Little Book of Hygge - Finding Happiness

Image
Hygge - Live Well The little book of happiness .....Denmark, often known as the happiest place on earth is down to 'Hygge' pronounced as  'Hooga' . Hygge cannot be described as a single emotion but about an atmosphere and experience.  Hygge has been called everything from 'the art of creating intimacy' to 'taking pleasure from the presence of soothing things'. It is about the feeling of home, a feeling of being safe and shielded from the world. This beautiful little book was written by Meik Wiking and who better to guide us through all things 'Hygge'. Meik is the CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen and has spent years studying the 'magic' of Danish life.  The Little Book of Hygge I cherish this little book and never tire of looking through it. It's captivating and a truly positive read. There is nothing more homely than snuggling down on the sofa, with a glass of wine and indulging through these delightful page

7 of my Favourite Health and Wellness Apps

Image
Wellness Apps Find health and wellness on your smart phone in an instant. Whether you are exercising, eating a healthy diet or simply relaxing and working on a stress free life ...... health and wellness apps are just a 'tap away'. So many apps nowadays record your progress in a number of ways......daily charts, weekly summaries, graphs and pie charts to help you keep track of your goals.  Not all apps are the same and I have spent 'many a time' figuring out how to use them. To be honest I have been a little disappointed with some and totally confused by others.  As I have mentioned on various blogs......I am trying to work on reducing my stress levels and practising mindfulness and self-care. I am lucky to be motivated enough to continue with my fitness routines and healthy eating, but I still need to monitor my progress and set new goals. Health and wellness however, are not just about my exercise and diet, but also my mental wellness and calm mind.   So to keep it
