Discover a Little Happiness - Simple Ways to Finding your Happy Life

Finding your Happy Life

"There is no path to happiness. Happiness is the path"
Buddha

The pursuit of happiness is a natural human goal. We all want and need to be happy. Happiness comes and goes with everyday life. Happiness is an emotion we feel when we smile and laugh or when we feel at peace and calm. We must remember that happiness is not a permanent fixture and our feelings will fluctuate. So embrace those happy moments and the feelings of joy that pass you by.

To find a happier and more fulfilling life, we need to look at our daily rituals and life habits. If you have ever tried to break a bad habit, you will already know that it is not an easy step to take. Like all good things, it takes time and patience to introduce new life long habits and rid yourself of those that no longer serve you.

Happiness......we all strive to be happy. We want to wake up in the morning happy, go to work happy, every day we want to be happy?  We are humans, we have a plethora of emotions......happiness being just one of them. Being happy promotes good health and longevity. With a little effort we have the ability to make small changes in our lives, our behaviour and our relationships to help us on our path to a healthier, more positive life

What makes us happy? How can we live a life of happiness? Is it possible to be happy every day for the rest of our lives? Happiness is a mental and emotional state and like everything else we want to achieve we need to introduce consistency and perseverance. We are not put on this earth to make others happy but to be happy and positive, enjoying all that life offers. The happier we are, the happier those around us will be. Happiness is removing all the 'negative chatter' inside our mind and replacing it with peace and calm. This will not only help us on our journey to a happy life but will keep us healthy and protect our well-being.

One very positive 'self-care' practice is to complete a gratitude journal. This little tool will help to focus on the 'positive' activities of our daily life. Although this takes a little practice, it will challenge you to revoke any negative thoughts and alter your belief patterns. You may wonder how a few words written in a journal can have such a significant impact on your self-worth. We can exchange bad habits for good, stop the destructive nature of overthinking and self destruction.......all very positive.

Research has shown that socialising and companionship have a positive effect on mental well-being. It makes us feel happier, reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression as well as reducing our stress levels.
The Netherlands are the 5th happiest country in the world. One of the reasons that makes the Dutch a happy nation is that they know how to 'chill'.
Gezelligheid is not truly translatable! It's a general feeling in social situations. It's fun, it's cosy and it's happy. Happiness around the Globe
