Why is Exercise so Important - The Benefits of Regular Activity

The Benefits of Regular Exercise

Regular exercise boosts your moods, helps to control your appetite and can improve your sleep patterns. Regular weight training will improve your muscle strength and endurance, increase your metabolism and improve your energy levels. In the long term, exercise will reduce your risk of heart disease, strokes, diabetes, dementia, depression and many cancers.

Resistance bands are very easy to use. They are not as complicated as some of the equipment in today's "highly technical" gyms that can feel very intimidating to those who are new to exercise workouts. It's hard to believe that these bands can increase your strength when you place them next to a dumbbell or kettlebell, but the power they hold will surprise you. Resistance bands are very like free weights (dumbbells, kettlebells) in that they give external resistance so you have to engage your muscles to oppose the tensity.

The fitness industry is forever changing. There are always new ideas and techniques to help you keep fit and healthy as well as new ways to approach your needs with perhaps a complete body and mind transformation.
It is all pretty overwhelming, even for me and I have been within the fitness industry for many years. The best way to get fit for life is to find an activity or two that you really enjoy. There is no point taking part in a sport or exercise class because you think this will be the only answer? Find what you enjoy and you will more than likely stick to a fitness plan.

As a gym instructor and personal trainer, many times I am asked “What is the best exercise class for fitness and weight loss?” My answer will always be a circuit class. The reason for this is a good circuit class will include strength exercises, cardio workouts and core strength. The class “punches a packet” when it comes to an entire workout for the body with cardio health included. The big bonus comes with the diversity and variety of this class. For all-round fitness add a circuit class or two per week to your fitness plan and notice a different in your strength, physique and your cardio health.

Water exercise is a great way to stay in shape. Not only is it an extremely active type of cardio exercise but the natural resistance of the water will help you become stronger and tone up some of those 'wibbly wobbly' bits. Aqua fitness is extremely popular and normally operate with a full class. It's a fantastic way to meet new friends and make connections with others whilst still making it a perfect way to boost your mental health and wellbeing.
