Give Yourself an Energy Boost

Making healthy changes in your life is not a huge overhaul or a daunting task involving lots of research. Taking small steps and making alterations that fit into your everyday life will bring success. We all want that quick fix, but 'quick fixes' won't 'fix' life-long bad habits. 

Spring is such a great time to feel refreshed and renewed. Lighter evenings are on their way, sunny days and mild weather will follow. We will naturally feel more energised as we head towards summer, so what better time is there than now, to start taking good health seriously and to make those improvements.

Planning a Healthy Lifestyle - Just by changing a few simple things in your day to day life, could make a big impact on your health and well being. Adding half an hours brisk walk to your day, five times a week and add weight bearing activities twice a week will improve both your cardio and bone health. Look at your eating habits and make a plan to replace one bad habit with one good habit, once or twice a week. For example, drink a glass of water with your breakfast rather than coffee or perhaps replace meat with fish once a week.

The Importance of Goal Setting - We all have goals for many different reasons. They can range from a 'small' habit change to a total 'life' change. But why do some of us have the motivation to see our goals through and some of us......well, we just can't seem to get started? We need to look at our goals and break them down to manageable segments, find our stimulus and never see any part of our journey as a failure. It maybe a smaller goal for example you want to achieve a healthier lifestyle, exercise more or lose weight. These are all goals, your own personal goals you feel will make you happier, successful or achieve the lifetime change you have always dreamed of. They are your goals and YOU want to make them achievable.

The fitness industry is ever evolving. With new ideas and techniques to help you keep fit and healthy. New ways to approach your needs or perhaps a complete body and mind transformation......it is all pretty overwhelming, even for me and I have been within the fitness industry for many years. The more information there is out there, the more confusing it all becomes. Not sure what to do? Stress is a huge health risk and we need to learn to Relax and Breathe. Simple deep breathing mindful techniques can bring an array of health benefits for mental and physical health. Deep breathing can reduce stress and anxiety by slowing down our breathing, reducing our heart rate and controlling our emotions and negative physical feelings. The calming benefits of a simple breathing technique for stress, anxiety and panic attacks will take just a few minutes a day. You will get the most benefit if you add this to your daily routine.

Living a Simple and Meaningful Life is our ultimate goal. We should be enjoying our time here on this earth whilst we can and that means reducing stress and making time for the things we enjoy in life.

Living a simple life is something I am really trying hard to implement into my own life, however life changes all the time and our priorities move from pillar to post in this ever changing world. Living a simple life leaves you with precious time to actually enjoy life itself and this is why we are here after all!
