How to Improve your Health and Vitality
Health and Vitality
Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being. It is the absence of illness and disease, of being mentally in a 'good place' feeling happy and when all social relationships are contented and of sound health.
Vitality refers to a feeling of 'aliveness' both physically and mentally. Vitality derives from the Latin word 'Vita' meaning life. Physically you need to feel healthy, capable and energetic and mentally to feel a sense of purpose and meaning.
All these components need to come together as one to improve our health, vitality and well-being. We have to work on our physical, mental and social skills to lead a strong and healthy life and to achieve optimum health.
Sometimes life does not allow a whole day of self-care. Life can be busy and stressful and we feel there is no time for self love and relaxation. A meditation can take as little as a minute to ground you and calm the mind. Guided meditations can last anywhere between 5 minutes and 1 hour or more. You may feel the need for a few minutes of down time and this is enough for you to find a spring in your step once again. There is no wrong or right time to meditate and it is a personal practice. There is no need to sit in the 'Lotus' pose or practice a yoga sequence to meditate. If you want to lie on the bed or sit in a comfy lounge chair to meditate, then this is right for you.
