How to Improve your Health and Vitality

Health and Vitality

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being. It is the absence of illness and disease, of being mentally in a 'good place' feeling happy and when all social relationships are contented and of sound health.

Vitality refers to a feeling of 'aliveness' both physically and mentally. Vitality derives from the Latin word 'Vita' meaning life. Physically you need to feel healthy, capable and energetic and mentally to feel a sense of purpose and meaning.

All these components need to come together as one to improve our health, vitality and well-being. We have to work on our physical, mental and social skills to lead a strong and healthy life and to achieve optimum health.

Living a life of full health and vitality takes a lot of self-care and reflection. Building healthy habits and removing bad habits from your daily living takes time, patience and consistency. Knowing where to begin and what to do is the first step to any plan or life change. I have a free course available for anyone who wants to lead a healthy and full-filling life by improving their physical, mental and spiritual well-being. I often go back to this course myself when I feel stressed or lethargic and feel the need to add a little bit more zest to my own life. My FREE COURSE includes movement of the body (with a free workout routine), how to change bad habits into good, how to journal for a calmer mind, information on cardio health and strength training and so much more.

I have a FREE 32 page ebook (an extension to my free course) with even more information on how to live your best life. You will find helpful links, videos, PDF's, a weekly diet planner, nutritional information, yoga sequences and meditations, strength workout plans and cardio fitness ideas. All you need to do is FOLLOW ME and You will receive an email, just once a month when I publish my new articles. This will bring you up to date on all things "healthy" that you need to achieve optimal health.

A major part of health and vitality is allowing your body time to relax. Without relaxation and healing of the mind and body you will just live your life in autopilot or worse still you will reach a point of 'burn out' and total exhaustion. Self-care and self-love are often seen as an act of selfishness rather than part of a healthy routine. Allow yourself some time to just simply 'be'. Try this Mindfulness Home Retreat. Prepare everything the day before so you can just focus on YOU.

Sometimes life does not allow a whole day of self-care. Life can be busy and stressful and we feel there is no time for self love and relaxation. A meditation can take as little as a minute to ground you and calm the mind. Guided meditations can last anywhere between 5 minutes and 1 hour or more. You may feel the need for a few minutes of down time and this is enough for you to find a spring in your step once again. There is no wrong or right time to meditate and it is a personal practice. There is no need to sit in the 'Lotus' pose or practice a yoga sequence  to meditate. If you want to lie on the bed or sit in a comfy lounge chair to meditate, then this is right for you. Here is a PDF on Mindful Breathing and includes a short guided breathing meditation
