September - International Positive Thinking Day

International Positive Thinking Day

International Positive Thinking Day is on the 13th September. A day to promote the powerful effects of positive thoughts and the impact this will have on your life.

Make a note of this in your diary and give positive thinking a try on this day. Jot down in your journal or diary the differences you notice by allowing only positive thoughts to remain and negative thoughts to diminish. Just one day, give it a try. You may find that you prefer this line of thought and will continue to journal and notice more of the effects that each day of positivity adds to your life

Sometimes being positive is not always easy if there is a lot of stress in your life or you are going through difficult times. This is where the practice of positivity will help you find the tools to manage negativity and challenging periods.

Happiness and positivity are not always natural emotions, even if there appears to be no worry or anxiety presently in your life. You may even wonder why you are not happy? Some simple planning or goal setting may be the tools you need to bring back those positive vibes. The pursuit of positivity and happiness is a long term objective and something we have to focus and pay attention to on a daily basis. Finding ways to happiness and a healthy mind gives our life a purpose and meaning.

Positive thinking is a skill and something most of us are not born with. Training our mind to be 'positive' takes time and thought in the same way our bodies need to train to stay fit and healthy. We understand the process of exercise and diet for health but not so tolerant when it comes to our minds. There are many thoughts that pass through our minds, in fact, over 6000 a day. We need to stay patient if we want to train the mind to enhance the positive and allow the negative to pass by.

To live a simple life is to live a harmonious life. A decluttered life simplifies our every day actions bringing peace and positivity. Clearing our thoughts limit negative vibes and give us a clearer picture. Just think about that inbox filled with emails we've not yet answered, the 'bits and bobs' drawer that is filled to the brim with 'stuff' and your computer file that has no storage space left? This causes the negative vibes that can so easily be removed by just clearing some space.

To be truly positive and healthy, we need to be of optimal health. To feel those positive vibes and to share your positivity on to others, you must be your 'best' self. This means looking after your own health and wellness. We cannot be a positive person and remain that way without selfcare and attention to our own wellbeing. I truly believe we can accomplish a positive outlook on life if we nourish, move and listen to our own bodies and become the best version of ourselves.

If you feel that your mind is holding on to negative thoughts, no matter how hard you are trying to look for the positive vibes, then try a little mindful meditation. By adding just a few minutes of mindfulness to your daily routine, it will help you to focus more on the things that make you feel good about yourself and your life in general. You will take note of the moments that bring joy and you will keep hold of that feeling for as long as you can. This will promote gratitude and positivity.
